Chana + Alex
Why did you choose your venue?: The Great Gatsby has always been the brides favorite book and the 20s her favorite era. It was a dream of hers to have a "Roaring 20's wedding" in 2020! Gimmicky we know but hey you only get married once, why not go all out. We booked The Treasury 2.5 years ago because it was the perfect place to have a 20's wedding. The speakeasy type bar in the vault along with the vault door is very much the grooms style. We wanted our venue to represent both the bride and grooms taste. We also wanted to make sure we were married during the Night of Lights in St. Augustine for beautiful picture sake.
Colors for your wedding?: Gatsby colors - Black, gold, and blush pink
Do you have a wedding hashtag?: #veryfortonate
Do you both have pets?: Yes, we have two dogs and a cat. Teddy and Daisy (our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels) and Eleanor our kitty.
Tell us a story of the proposal?: Alex and I met in undergrad and Western Michigan University. We moved to "Disney World" aka Florida in 2014 for graduate school. Having never been to Disney World as a child, Alex took me there for my first time that year. We bought annual passes and basically lived there on the weekends. Alex had once told me that proposing at Disney World would be way to cheesy and he would never propose there. I was a little bummed and stoped hoping for the proposal every time we went after that. Turns out Alex was always ok with being cheesy and did propose at Disney right in front of the castle when I LEAST expected it. Anyways, Alex and I have been engaged now for nearly 3 years and have both finished graduate school. We just unexpectedly moved to Atlanta this November and are now planning a long-distance wedding in St. Augustine FL.
