TL;DR: Tampa's best wedding venues range from industrial-chic halls like Armature Works and the J.C. Newman Cigar Factory to grand estates like the Powel Crosley Estate and refined hotels like Hotel Haya and Oxford Exchange. The right venue for you depends on your guest count, your light, and the feeling you want your wedding film to capture. Below are the Tampa venues we've personally filmed at, what each one is actually like to shoot, and real wedding films from each.
We've filmed weddings across Tampa for more than a decade, and we get asked the same question on almost every first call: "We love your work — but where should we actually get married?" Couples search for a videographer and a venue at the same time, so this guide answers both.
These aren't venues we found on a list. They're rooms we've stood in at golden hour, ceremonies we've covered start to finish, and receptions we've filmed until the last dance. For each one, here's what it's genuinely like — the light, the space, the moments it gives you — plus a real Labif Filmhouse film shot there so you can see it for yourself.
The Best Wedding Venues in Tampa (From a Videographer Who's Filmed Them)
Armature Works
A restored 1910 industrial building on the Hillsborough River in Tampa Heights, Armature Works is one of the most photogenic spaces in the city. High ceilings, exposed brick, and huge windows mean it's flooded with natural light — a videographer's dream — and the riverfront lawn gives you a clean second backdrop for portraits and drone shots. It suits modern, design-forward couples who want an urban feel without losing warmth. See Angela + Brandon's Armature Works wedding film.
Powel Crosley Estate
A 1929 Mediterranean Revival mansion overlooking Sarasota Bay (just south of Tampa), the Powel Crosley Estate is pure old-Florida grandeur — arched windows, sweeping staircases, and waterfront sunsets that do half the cinematographer's work for you. It's ideal for couples who want a timeless, elevated film. We've filmed here more than once: see Maiya + Nahshon and Kathy + Joel.
Hotel Haya (Ybor City)
A boutique hotel in the heart of historic Ybor, Hotel Haya blends Spanish-Mediterranean architecture with a lush courtyard and warm, moody interiors. The textured walls and string-lit courtyard make for an intimate, cinematic palette — especially beautiful for evening receptions. Watch Michelle + Stephen at Hotel Haya.
J.C. Newman Cigar Factory
One of Tampa's most distinctive venues — a working historic cigar factory in Ybor with brick, iron, and serious character. It photographs and films like nowhere else in the city: industrial, rich, and full of texture. Great for couples who want their wedding film to feel like a story with a sense of place. See Lorissa + Jason's J.C. Newman wedding.
Oxford Exchange & Palihouse Hyde Park
In the Hyde Park district, Oxford Exchange brings a bookstore-meets-conservatory elegance — glass atrium light, refined details, and a built-in editorial aesthetic — while nearby Palihouse offers a stylish boutique-hotel base for getting ready. Together they make a beautiful Tampa wedding day. See Victoria + Matthew's Hyde Park + Oxford Exchange film.
Tampa Garden Club
A waterfront garden venue on Bayshore Boulevard, the Tampa Garden Club is intimate, green, and full of soft natural light — perfect for couples who want an outdoor, botanical feel close to downtown. See Stephanie + John's Tampa Garden Club wedding.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church
For couples planning a traditional Catholic ceremony, Sacred Heart in downtown Tampa is breathtaking — soaring stained glass, marble, and dramatic, even light that makes for a reverent, cinematic ceremony film. See Reinaldo + Lennis at Sacred Heart.
Tampa River Center & Riverwalk
The Tampa River Center at Julian B. Lane Park offers floor-to-ceiling glass and skyline-and-river views, with the Tampa Riverwalk right outside for portraits and drone work. A strong choice for a modern downtown wedding. See Alexandra + Kyle at Tampa River Center and Shalini + Vinay on the Riverwalk.
Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay
A full-service waterfront resort near the airport with a private nature preserve and bay views — convenient for out-of-town guests and flexible for larger celebrations. See Lauren + Yianni's Greek Orthodox celebration.
Florida Rustic Barn (Plant City)
Just east of Tampa, this is the go-to for couples who want a true barn wedding — string lights, open fields, and golden-hour light for days. See Hope + Bernhard's Florida Rustic Barn wedding.
How to Choose a Tampa Wedding Venue (A Videographer's Advice)
After filming hundreds of Florida weddings, here's what we tell couples to look for — beyond the photos on the venue's website:
- Natural light. Big windows and outdoor ceremony options make for a brighter, more cinematic film. Dark ballrooms can be beautiful, but ask about the lighting plan.
- Ceremony timing and direction. Where the sun sits at your ceremony time matters more than almost anything. A great venue with a 2pm ceremony in harsh overhead sun is harder than the same venue at 5pm.
- Space to move. Videographers and photographers need room to find angles without crowding your guests. Tight venues can still look great — it just changes how the day flows.
- A clean getting-ready room. Bright, uncluttered prep spaces make the opening of your film. Hotels like Hotel Haya and Palihouse handle this beautifully.
- Drone rules. Some Tampa venues and nearby airports restrict drone flight. If aerial shots matter to you, confirm it early.
Planning Your Tampa Wedding Film
Once you've found your venue, the next step is locking in coverage — Tampa's peak season (October through May) books up fast, often 9 to 14 months out. If you're weighing the investment, our Florida wedding videography pricing guide breaks down what couples actually pay and what's included at each tier.
