The Tampa Garden Club is three acres of garden sitting directly on Bayshore Boulevard, which is a combination that should not exist in a city this size. Labif Filmhouse has filmed there.
The Tampa Garden Club is set along Bayshore Boulevard with views across Hillsborough Bay, surrounded by three acres of lawn and landscaped garden. It is a non-profit, so rental fees go back into the club's gardening and environmental education work in Tampa.
How it actually films
Bayshore is the asset and the obstacle. The water and the open sky give a film light and distance that a walled garden cannot, but Bayshore Boulevard is a live road — traffic sits under every outdoor audio take. Vows need a plan, not just a microphone.
The gardens themselves are the calmer half. Three acres of planting means portraits can be shot at several distances without repeating a background, which is more than most Tampa venues of this size can offer.
What to protect in the timeline
- Vows away from the road, or lavs on both. This is the one decision that determines whether the ceremony audio is usable.
- Bay-facing portraits late. Hillsborough Bay picks up the evening light and the city sits behind it.
- Garden coverage while it is still bright. Under planting, the light goes earlier than the sky suggests.
