The Wallace Ranch has the third-largest camphor tree in Florida in its back garden, and there is a chandelier hanging in it. Labif Filmhouse has filmed there, in Dade City.
The Wallace Ranch is a working cattle ranch on ten acres outside Dade City, about thirty minutes from Tampa, that becomes a wedding venue at weekends. It was previously known as Two Sisters Ranch. The farmhouse takes up to 100 guests, with a deck built under the camphor tree for ceremonies and a lit crystal chandelier suspended above it.
How it actually films
A single enormous tree is the best natural lighting instrument a Florida venue can have. The canopy scatters afternoon sun into even, directional light across the whole ceremony deck, so faces are lit without a single fixture and without the hard shadows an open field produces at the same hour.
The chandelier under the canopy is the venue's signature and it is genuinely difficult to shoot — a bright point source hanging in shade will blow out unless it is either exposed for deliberately or kept above the frame line. It is worth one considered shot, not a running motif.
What to protect in the timeline
- Ceremony under the camphor, in the afternoon. That is the whole venue in one frame.
- A hundred guests is the honest ceiling. Ten acres films as intimate, not vast.
- The fire pit after dark. Practical light on a dark ranch, and it reads warm.
