Isla Del Sol is a rare St. Petersburg venue where the ceremony can happen on sand and the reception never leaves the building. Labif Filmhouse has filmed there, on the water between St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach.
Isla Del Sol Yacht & Country Club sits on Boca Ciega Bay. Its ballroom carries floor-to-ceiling windows, chandelier lighting and a cascading double stairwell, and holds up to 250. Outside there is a private sandy beach with a gazebo, a short walk from the ballroom doors.
How it actually films
Having the beach and the ballroom on one property removes the single biggest continuity risk in a wedding film — the drive. Nothing is lost between locations because there is no between. That sounds administrative; on screen it is the difference between one story and two.
The double stairwell is the building's best gift and its most over-used one. It is genuinely good for an entrance or a first look. Shot from below with the chandelier above, once, it lands. Shot four times it becomes the film's whole personality.
What to protect in the timeline
- Beach ceremony timed to the west light. Boca Ciega Bay faces that way and it is the property's best hour.
- Stairwell moment, singular. Pick one and commit.
- Wind budget on the sand. Open bay, same as any beach ceremony in Tampa Bay.
