Thirty-five-foot ceilings and two lakes are the two facts that decide how a wedding films at Covington Farm. Labif Filmhouse has filmed there, outside Dade City.
The Barn at Covington Farm sits on 75 acres of rolling hills, hayfields and pasture in Dade City, between two lakes — Buddy Lake and Lake Pasadena. The barn is climate controlled, with 35-foot ceilings and French doors that open onto panoramic lake and countryside views. It holds up to 300.
How it actually films
Thirty-five feet is genuinely unusual for a barn. Most barn venues top out around twenty, and the difference shows in wides: a high ceiling lets a room read as architecture instead of a shed, and it means string lighting sits well above the frame rather than through the middle of it.
The French doors are the other half. Open, they turn one long wall into a light source and give the interior a bright side and a shadow side, which is what makes indoor footage look shaped rather than flat. Shooting with the doors behind you is the whole trick here.
What to protect in the timeline
- Ceremony angled toward the lakes. Two of them, and the water is what separates this property from every other Pasco barn.
- Doors open during the reception if the weather allows. The room changes completely.
- A wide that includes the ceiling. It is the barn's single most distinctive feature.
